PAYMENT & SCHOLARSHIPS

The cost of camp for counselors is $200, plus fees. The counselor-in-training (CIT) cost is $450, plus fees.

Payments can be made via online payment

The 2027 Camper cost is $450, plus fees and includes meals and lodging for five days and four nights, a camp t-shirt, and class supplies. 

You will be contacted with payment instructions after you've registered and been accepted into camp. Payment in full is due within 7 days of your camp reservation. Donations to our scholarship fund are always appreciated and can be made as an add-on to your camp fee. Payment must be made via online payment.

Request Financial Assistance

Assistance is available for those with financial needs.  On the application form, you will have an opportunity to apply for a *need-based* scholarship. The form will ask you to share 2026 income and any Medicaid, SNAP, or Free/Reduced lunch documentation. After receiving your request, we will be in touch to let you know whether we can approve your financial assistance request and the amount you should send for your final camp payment. 

Campers can also request to be nominated for the Preston R. Wilson Virginia Statewide 4-H Camp Scholarships for the summer of 2027. The scholarship is funded by the Virginia Forestry Educational Foundation, the Virginia Forestry Association, the Virginia Forest Products Association, and the Virginia Loggers Association. Applications for youth ages 9 – 13 can be submitted to VFEF to attend one week of 4-H Camp. Eight scholarship applicants attending camp at the NOVA 4-H Center will be randomly selected. Those who apply for need-based scholarships will be automatically submitted for this scholarship. Please email your locality's 4-H staff to request a nomination. The scholarship application closes April 1st. 

All camp payments are due by April 23 for campers.

Counselors Refund Policy

Before February 19, 2027: Full refund minus fees

Feburary 20  - March 5, 2027: 50% refund minus fees 

After March 5, 2027: No refunds may be processed.

Campers Refund Policy

Before March 5, 2027: Full refund minus fees

March 6 - April 23, 2027: 50% refund minus fees 

After April 24, 2027: No refunds may be processed.

Once you have requested a refund, you have 30 days to complete and submit a W-9 to your 4-H Agent to begin the refund process. Once the 30 days have passed, we can no longer honor a refund. Refund deadlines apply even if you have not yet mailed a payment by the stated deadline.

Returned Check Policy

At times, checks are returned to the sender due to insufficient funds. These checks incur a $50 processing fee from Virginia Tech. This fee must be mailed with the replacement payment for the camp fee.
